LEARN TO SKI

With its varied slopes, the Allgäu is the perfect place to teach the kids to ski on a family holiday. Our lovingly crafted children’s skiing lessons are a chance for even the little ones to make their way through the wintery mountains, having fun and making quick progress along the way. Whatever group they are in, parents will be excited to see what their kids can do after just a few hours. And if, one day, you don’t have quite as much energy, that’s not a problem either! Our partnership with the ‘Oberstaufen Plus’ visitor card means the ski pass will not cost you a penny.

Good to know: Our partners at the ski school in Steibis guarantee that children’s skiing lessons will take place in virtually all weathers. Sport Hauber by the Hündle base station hires equipment in excellent condition in all sizes. We have tested the range personally and can thoroughly recommend it.

TOBOGGANING IN THE ALLGÄU

Discovering tobogganing with your children is a guaranteed way to have fun on your winter holiday. You can try the mini hills on our grounds, the nearby Schlittenberg or one of the two bendy natural toboggan runs. While the two-kilometre route in the Steibis skiing arena allows even the little ones to glide gently from the Imberg into the valley, the five-kilometre Hochgrat run is a challenge for the abler tobogganists of the family. Of course, toboggans are available to hire on site.

Top tip: The toboggan run is open into the evenings on Saturdays when the weather allows, and the flood-lit run is a real adventure, even for teenagers.

A WINTER WALK

Your family does not have to go all out every day on your winter holiday in the Allgäu. We recommend a winter walk from the resort itself for a more relaxed adventure. You can walk to Oberstaufen or through the gentle rolling hills, with the wonderful mountain views as your constant companion. There is a 60 km network of cleared and rolled paths available, and, with a bit of imagination, even the little ones can learn to love this kind of quality time.
